Van Boekel Groep joins Hanab
Amsterdam / Uden – 11 September 2026 – Hanab intends to acquire Van Boekel Groep from Uden. Hanab is strengthening its position in the Dutch water infrastructure, road construction and civil engineering works through the acquisition of Van Boekel Groep.
Orange Corporate Finance advised and guided the selling shareholders throughout the entire transaction process.
Van Boekel will continue to operate under its own name and with its familiar management. Day-to-day operations, roles, workplaces and client relationships will also remain unchanged. As a result, Van Boekel’s identity, culture and way of working are preserved.
Stronger together in expertise and execution
By combining Van Boekel’s unique expertise, technical knowledge and execution capability with Hanab’s network, scale and multidisciplinary knowledge, a strong basis is created for further growth. The combination gives both organisations greater opportunities to carry out larger, multidisciplinary projects and to provide clients with integrated support on issues relating to drinking water, energy, infrastructure and sustainability.
New opportunities
“Over the past few years, Van Boekel has achieved strong growth and built a distinctive position in the market for water infrastructure, road construction and civil engineering works,” says Twan Spanjers on behalf of Van Boekel. “Projects in our markets are becoming ever larger and more complex. As part of Hanab, we gain access to additional expertise, capacity and a broader network. At the same time, our name, familiar management and entrepreneurial family culture are preserved. This allows us to continue growing and to offer new opportunities to our clients and employees.”
A logical strengthening of Hanab Pipelines & Utilities
Van Boekel is becoming part of Hanab Pipelines & Utilities, the division focused on underground infrastructure, including energy and transport pipelines and heat networks. The teams within this division are involved in the full lifecycle of projects: from engineering and design to construction, maintenance and asset management of underground and above-ground pipelines and installations.
Guus de Vries, COO Hanab Energy & Water: “The challenges in the water sector closely resemble those of the energy transition: a major societal task, rising investment and a shortage of technical capacity. Van Boekel gives us a strong starting position in this growth market and fits seamlessly with our ambition to build a future-proof, connected Netherlands.”
This acquisition fits with Hanab’s ambitious growth strategy. Earlier this year, Hanab further expanded its international position with the acquisition of two companies in the United Kingdom: Green Frog Connect, a specialist in high-voltage infrastructure, and AMS Trenchless, specialised in horizontal directional drilling. In addition, the Dutch cleanroom specialist CTC Solutions from Best was acquired, further strengthening Hanab’s position in high-tech and complex environments. Three installation companies in the south and centre of the Netherlands were also acquired. Alongside the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium, the United Kingdom is thus developing into an increasingly important growth market for Hanab.
The transaction remains subject to approval by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM). This is expected to take four weeks.
