Acquisition of Bubbelkoning leads to largest retail chain in spas and saunas
On November 8, 2024, Vlemmix, supplier of spas and saunas, acquired the Dutch retailer Bubbelkoning. Vlemmix and Bubbelkoning together are the multi branded spa and sauna market leader in the Benelux.
Orange Corporate Finance advised and guided the seller from preparation to the closing of the entire transaction process.
Bubbelkoning
Founded in 2008, Bubbelkoning is one of the largest retail chains in spas and saunas in the Benelux. Bubbelkoning serves both B2C and B2B consumers from 6 locations in the Netherlands (Amersfoort, Alphen aan de Rijn, Waalre (HQ)) and Belgium (Zandhoven, Waregem en Genk) under the names Bubbelkoning and Saunakoning. Furthermore, the company operates successful webshops and serves the high-end spa segment through the Legend Wellness label (’s-Hertogenbosch). Bubbelkoning also has its own service department, responsible for the installation and maintenance of spas and saunas.
Vlemmix
Vlemmix, founded by family Vlemmix, is the largest supplier of spas and saunas in the Benelux. Since 2004, Vlemmix has focused entirely on the spa and sauna market. In addition to importing and wholesaling activities in Europe, Vlemmix sells spas and saunas directly to customers through its own SunSpa label. SunSpa operates 2 locations itself and 8 locations are operated by franchisees.
Combination
This acquisition results in a retail chain with a total of 17 locations, making it the largest retail chain of spas and saunas in the Netherlands and Belgium.
